Lesmurdie Falls

Lesmurdie Falls, located in the Lesmurdie Falls National Park in the hills east of Perth, are one of the more spectacular waterfalls on the Darling Range escarpment.x

Commencing at the top, this moderate two-kilometre walk circuit meanders down to the base of the falls, up close to the lush vegetation, and is quite unique for the Perth area.

This Top Trail starts on the top of the falls where Lesmurdie book tumbles over the Darling Range Escarpment. Walking down the hill, it follows the brook until it reaches a bridge at the top of the falls. Stand at the top and look over the waterfall.

Originally the site of Alcoa’s first bauxite mine in WA, the park offers a network of trails for various skill levels and features day-use facilities including picnic tables and toilets. Visitors can access the park via Nettleton Road.

Serpentine Dam

The Serpentine Dam is a major water supply dam for Perth, Western Australia. The dam is used to store water that is released at a controlled rate to regulate the level in the Serpentine Pipehead Dam reservoir, which in turn feeds water to the metropolitan trunk main network depending on demand. Construction of the dam was completed in 1961.
