The changing of the guard ceremony

The changing of the guard ceremony at the Istana Merdeka in Jakarta takes place every Sunday morning at 8:00 AM WIB.

Performed by the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres), including horse-mounted guards, rifle drill teams, and marching units.

Similar to the Buckingham Palace guard mounting, the public can watch the formal handover of guard duties, weapon inspections, rifle displays, and the transfer of the palace guard flag.

Crowds gathered around Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to watch the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) conduct a ceremonial handover of palace guard duties.
