The Dieng Plateau is an area in the center of Central Java that has geological, historical, and agricultural characteristics that are considered unique.

This plateau is at an altitude of between 2000 and 2590 meters above sea level (MDPL) flanked by a range of hills on the north and south sides, which originate from the same volcanic activity and are called the Dieng Mountains.

The Dieng Mountains themselves are geographically located between the Rogojembangan Peak complex to the west and the pair of Mount Sindoro and Mount Sumbing to the east.

Roughly speaking, the Dieng Plateau area occupies an area measuring 4–6 km wide (north–south) and 11 km long (west–east).

I started the trip to Puncak Sikunir early morning to see sunrise

Unfortunately it was cloudy

I had traditional breakfast , roasted potatoes

We continued to go to Sikarim Waterfall through the steep road

The waterfall is not too high and small but the view surrounded is very nice

We also passed nice view of the hills, valley and rice fields, we called it ‘ Swiss van Java’

We visit lake Menjer or telaga Menjer, the green lake with boats to go around the lake

There are plenty of tea plantation in Dieng, one of them is Panama Tea plantation

We also passed Serayu river which is famous for white water rafting

The others tea plantation is Sikatok

Nice view

Not too far from Sikatok, there’s another tea plantation, Tambi.

In the morning I visited Pintu Langit Sky view

I stayed at Wonosobo,a sub-district and also the capital of the district in Wonosobo Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia.

From Jogja, I took minivan to Wonosobo, though it’s only 90 km but it took 3 hours to get there. I passed Kledung Pass which has beautiful view of Mt Sumbing and Mt Sindoro

From alun-alun in the town I took gojek to my hostel in Dieng.

JOGJA
When I had several hours in Jogja, I visited Situs Warungboto.

It was originally a royal retreat and bathing complex built by Sultan Hamengku Buwono II while he was still crown prince, with construction starting around 1785.
